Making a Living On-line, for Anyone, Or for The Rich? : Shark-filled Waters (iPAS did not Pass)

Making a Living On-line, for Anyone, Or for The Rich? : Shark-filled Waters
Theses:
Making a living on line is possible, although it is more suitable for the wealthy, others will do well  if they have a good budget, deal with market saturation issues,  beware of marketing pitfalls, such as; MLM scams, improper use of video marketing, unethical practices, black hat marketing.
Shark-filled Waters
The internet is filled with those whom will take advantage of those new to the web and naïve to the game.  To avoid pitfalls in online marketing, one should not attempt to market on-line without doing extensive reach, or come to that conclusion the hard way. Many come the web looking to find their fortune.  Some like Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook us education and mom and dad’s money to launch their success on the web.  Unfortunately, many come to the web with no budget, and no knowledge of what they are getting into, and a relentless dream.  In my research, I found that there may have been some fraud involved with the startup of Facebook.
The origins of Facebook have been in dispute since the very week a 19-year-old Mark Zuckerberg launched the site as a Harvard sophomore on February 4, 2004.
Then called "thefacebook.com," the site was an instant hit.  Now, six years later, the site has become one of the biggest web sites in the world, visited by 400 million people a month.
The controversy surrounding Facebook began quickly.  A week after he launched the site in 2004, Mark was accused by three Harvard seniors of having stolen the idea from them.

One must have a Good Budget to Succeed
Even with a good working knowledge of the web, a solid brick and mortar business, and business now-how, a good budget is an essential part of success.  However, without it, one is in for a struggle.  The need for a good budget is so that one can get good targeted traffic to one’s landing pages that will yield the best revenue.  True, there are many free methods that are effective, however they only bring in the curious; not necessary buyers.  Yes buyers are what a web-site needs to survive.  Also other allocations for the budget are:
1.      Market research.(this includes keyword research)
2.      Web-hosting, Paid up for at least two years or better.  Five years will be great for that tells the search engines that one plans to be around for a while and that will bring one good traffic for they will place you in a good listing. Month by month is not taken seriously.  (It would be good to secure ones domain name for 5 years too. People love to snatch up expired domain names after someone ales has built up traffic to them.
3.      Outsourcing of manual chores: updating content, blog management, copywriting, site programming issues, logo design, and other graphics needs.
4.      Shopping cart services.
5.      And then there is an ongoing repeating of things over and over again to keep ones site up-to-date and fresh.  That one will pay in time or in a salary for a marketing team.

What are some of the variables that lead to success? One is Video marketing.

Video Marketing
What is the Proper use of video marketing? Google is the number one platform for video marketing.  One does not need to say too much more than that.  However I must for this is an academic paper.  Believe it or not, there is a wrong and a wright way to make a YouTube video.  As with everything, Google provides you with the answers.  One just simply has to ask the right questions.  Otherwise, no one will volunteer the answers to your question.  If one has a question, punch it into the search bar in YouTube and it is bound to be a video about it.  Tons of them to wade though.  Narrow the search by being more specific.
8 Big Video Marketing Results Numbers

80%

According to the Online Publishers Association, that’s the percentage of Internet users who recall watching a video ad on a website they visited in the past 30 days. It gets even better. Of that 80%, 46% took some action after viewing the ad. In fact:

26% looked for more information about the subject of the video
22% visited the website named in the ad
15% visited the company represented in the video ad
12% purchased the specific product featured in the ad

64%

That’s how much more likely website visitors are to buy a product on an online retail site after watching a video. In addition, visitors who view videos stay on the site an average of 2 minutes longer than those who don’t view videos, comScore says.

In all of this, one can see how this info supports my claim that on-line marketing is best done by Wealthy business people.  It is note impossible for others, but ones that already have money are well equipped for the challenges.  Many of the challenges has caused desperate marketers to use the flood of new marketers as a new traffic source.
This flood of traffic is not from a mob of hungry shoppers with credit cards in hand, but other new comers to web, or digital marketing.  My stance is that we should not take advantage of their inexperience, to make a fast dollar.  We should help them and guide them as best as we can.

The Flood of new Marketers
The flood of new marketers is not a reliable traffic source, especially if one is going to take advantage of their naiveties and exploit them.  A more long-term use of them is to recruit them as affiliates, and train them to be a team members not customers.  They have been customers all of their lives and when they decided to become entrepreneurs like ourselves, they deserve more respect than to just be thought of as fresh newbie meat.  Let’s be newbie friendly.
Crash of web-site Rankings
Much of the cause of the plummet of web-site rankings was because of not using long-term, and time honored practices of digital marketing.  Market saturation made ones mad about making a sale any which way one can.  The word on the web, is that 3 sales a day will make one a 5 figure income.  Would it be easier to focus on getting that 3, than desperately pushing for 50, or better.
All of these so called ‘updates’ wreaked havoc on website rankings, causing many top ranking sites to disappear overnight. People lost an incredible amount of money, not to mention the vast amounts of time spent securing the ranking in the first place. It was all gone – almost overnight, and without notice. But not every website experienced an instant seizure in ranking. In fact, there are countless websites that actually benefited from the search engine changes. What were they doing differently than those who saw an immediate drop in ranking, traffic and profits? These savvy marketers hadn’t focused their time on shaky traffic sources that could be yanked without warning. Instead, they had focused only on a rock-solid, long-term, EVERGREEN source of traffic that would continue to flood their website with fresh, targeted traffic regardless whether Google made a change or not. It simply didn’t matter to these people.

Multi-level-Marketing
When it comes to the Woes and the Pros of internet marketing, M L M is one of the most frustrating businesses to deal with.  For those that are not familiar with M L M, it stands for Multi-level-marketing.  More popular ones are:
1.      Avon.
2.      Tupper-ware.  And ones like those.
However, on the internet though, we have some want-to-be network marketing companies that are masquerading as true multi-level-marketing companies, but really they boarder-line on get rich quick scams.  They us the hype to up-sell newbies, giving them false hopes of making big bucks fasts, and if one cannot afford to upgrade they limit how much one can do with the account as an incentive to upgrade. Why are marketers targeting other or newbies in order to net big M L M bucks?
Market Saturation
Market saturation is the reason why.  The internet is full of so many marketers selling the same things that Marketers are forced to play dirty by taking advantage of unexperienced marketers.  That is why those ads always say no experience necessary as a sales pitch.  They do not want anyone with too much experience for you would see through the smoke and mirrors of their operation and they will lose a sale. Let the buyer beware

I. Market Saturation: An Inherent Problem
Back to the Basics
A tutorial on market saturation hardly seems necessary in most business discussions, but with MLM, unfortunately, it is. Common sense seems to get suspended when considering if MLMs are viable, even theoretically, as a profitable means of distribution for all parties involved. This suspension is created by a heightened expectation of "easy money," but more on that later.
Don't Some People Make Money in MLM?
First, we will analyze the "driving mechanism" of MLMs. We will detail how they are intrinsically unstable, guaranteed by design to oversaturate the market with no one noticing. We will look at why MLMs can never equalize into profitability the way companies in the real world can, so that the result will be that the organization as a whole cannot, even in theory, be profitable. When this inevitable destiny occurs, the only money to be made is not from the product or service but from the losses of people lower down in the organization.
http://www.vandruff.com/mlm.html Although MLM is a difficult factor in regard to on-line marketing, The Influence of Black Hat Marketing poses a different problem.

The Influence of Black Hat Marketing
There is another factor that affects one’s ability to function as a business on the web.  Black Hat marketing has caused playing field to be a bit bumpy.  However, one can deal with these issues if one is wise: One should.
1.      Avoid get rich quick scams.
2.      Resist the suggestions of Black hat markers that one will never get anywhere following Google and other search engine rules.
3.      Do not believe that free methods are better.  One gets what one pays for.
4.      Do research, and spend advertising wisely.
This is not so simple on the web.  Black hat tactics can be disguised as legitimate web practices, and one can be doing it for years without knowing it was wrong.  In view of the forging, one must not let oneself deviate from what is common scenes, and common ethical behavior.  A good rule of thumb could be that anything that one would not do in someone’s face in a brick and mortar company, should not be done on the web.  Keeping all of this in mind, and making sure one has calculated the cost of their business venture, and have researched everything well, will be on the road to success in business on the web.
What Is Black Hat Social Media?
First off, “black hat” is a phrase originally coined to refer to a type of hacker — one who “violates computer security for little reason beyond maliciousness or for personal gain.” In the search marketing world, “black hat SEO” refers to techniques and tactics that increase search engine rankings in ways that fall outside of the search engines’ guidelines or terms of service. (Conversely, “white hat SEO” refers to SEO techniques and tactics that are ethical — i.e., fall within the search engines’ guidelines.)
Conclusion:
In conclusion, one can avoid pitfalls and make money online, only without a good budget and education, it will be difficult. However, ones that already have money could do better, but they need to be educated as well for ones will pray on the wealthy as well, if they are not aware of such.  Marketers must remember to avoid get rich quick scams. Making a living on line is possible, although it is more suitable for the wealthy, others will do well  if they have a good budget, deal with market saturation issues,  beware of marketing pitfalls, such as; MLM scams, improper use of video marketing, unethical practices, and black hat marketing.

An overview of marketing positioning, differentiation, and value proposition.

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is a marketing strategy in which the sales force is compensated not only for sales they generate, but also for the sales of the other salespeople that they recruit. This recruited sales force is referred to as the participant's "down-line", and can provide multiple levels of compensation.
